Currency Creek Rail Viaduct
One of South Australia's tallest historic rail viaducts, a short walk through the creek valley from the Currency Creek Lions Park.
A 19th-century viaduct
The Currency Creek Rail Viaduct is one of the tallest historic rail viaducts in South Australia - a stone-and-iron structure built to carry the original Goolwa-to-Strathalbyn rail line across the Currency Creek valley. The line is no longer in regular service but the viaduct stands as a striking heritage feature.
How to see it
A short walk from the Currency Creek Lions Park leads through the creek valley to the foot of the viaduct. The structure is best appreciated from below - the height and scale are impressive when you are standing in the gully looking up.
