Myponga Market
A converted art-deco former butter factory in the centre of Myponga, now home to the Valley of Yore cafe, the post office, gallery spaces, market stalls and the local arts scene.
The old butter factory
Myponga Market occupies the old Myponga butter factory on the main highway through town - an art deco building with high ceilings and a long industrial floor. The building was repurposed as a creative and retail space about a decade ago and now houses a permanent group of small businesses alongside event space.
What's inside
The Valley of Yore cafe (which is the main draw - see separate listing), a working post office, several artisan retail stalls, a gallery space that rotates exhibitions, and event space used for markets, workshops and live music. On weekends the building is busy from breakfast through to mid-afternoon.
Why it's worth a stop
It is the social and cultural anchor of Myponga town. A natural lunch stop on the drive between Adelaide and Cape Jervis or Victor Harbor.
