Samson Tall

An 1854 chapel turned cellar door

Intimate cellar door housed in an 1854 stone chapel on Strout Road, with an adjoining historic cemetery - one of McLaren Vale's most atmospheric tastings.

A chapel and a cemetery

Samson Tall is a small McLaren Vale winery with one of the most atmospheric cellar doors in Australia - a beautifully restored 1854 pug-and-stone chapel on Strout Road, with a small historic cemetery in the garden. Tastings are held inside the chapel, where the acoustics, stone walls and soft daylight create a quietly memorable setting.

The wines

Small-batch wines focus on Shiraz, Grenache and Chenin Blanc from estate and regional vineyards. The tasting fee of around $15 is redeemable on purchase. Open daily 11am-5pm.
