An 1870s rural church
St James Anglican Church is one of the two surviving historic churches in the small Delamere settlement. The foundation stone was laid on 19 September 1870 and the church was formally dedicated on 4 May 1871. The stone fabric and the timber interior are largely unchanged in 150 years.
State Heritage
The building is on the South Australian State Heritage Register and is open to the public for occasional services and on heritage open days. The setting - a small stone church on a rural roadside south of Yankalilla - is one of the more atmospheric heritage sights on the southern Fleurieu.
