Thicker Than Water is unashamedly family-run and unpretentious, built around the Giant Squid Ink label. The cellar door on McMurtrie Road is friendly to kids, dogs and curious wine drinkers alike, with accessible facilities and paid seated tastings.
The wines
Shiraz and grenache are the stars but there is also merlot, chardonnay and rose. Open weekdays 10am to 5pm and weekends from 11am.
